System debugger in the "Tools" menu in ACS

Today you have to open the "Run SQL Script" to start the System Debugger. This great when you work with stored procedures, however, this is counter intuitive
if you debug other type of programs

Use Case:

Open IBM i ACS,
Click Tools,
Select the system debugger

I agree it would be extremely helpful to have this option available from the main ACS launcher menu - it is currently well hidden.

To enable quicker access to the debugger you can create a shortcut by specifying /PLUGIN=sysdbg.

This is the command I use for Linux.

    /opt/ibm/iAccessClientSolutions/Start_Programs/Linux_x86-64/acslaunch_linux-64 /PLUGIN=sysdbg

When using a shortcut like this the login panel isn't perfect as it defaults to my local user name but it's still much easier than firing up a Run SQL Scripts window first.

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed. Making this feature more accessible would be good for the community.

The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a HIGH priority requirement that is important to address.

This tool is a hidden gem, we can see that it would have a broad appeal to many IBM i users.

IBM understands this request and will consider it for a future code update, though no commitment is made or implied.
