more then 16 group profiles

Actually, you can link a userprofile to 16 groupprofiles. For RCAC performance, we need to link a userprofile to more then 16 groupprofiles.

Use Case:

this is solely for performance resons when using RCAC! then we can use the IBM standard RCAC functions to check the RCAC defintions.

While we agree that being able to have more than 16 group profiles has value, we do not currently plan to implement the support. Given the runway for the next 2 releases, we won't be able to get to this request so are declining it now.

For those looking to adopt a more granular implementation of Db2 for i's Row Permissions and/or Column Masks (RCAC), here are some recommendations:

-- Use VERIFY_GROUP_FOR_USER() for the 16 most performance sensitive roles, and a secure UDF for any additional roles.
-- Implement the CASE expression in order of the most common or most performance sensitive conditions to the least common.
-- Engage IBM i Lab Services to consult on an RCAC strategy that satisfies both data security requirements and performance expectations.

IBM has received the requirement and is evaluating it. IBM will provide a response after evaluation is complete.
