Provide a Contemporary "Language" for PRINT FILE Definitions

With the rejection of providing a way to integrate PDF output into IBM i native applications, this request is to provide a free-format DDS for Print files that works with legacy and contemporary interfaces.
Whether this new language syntax based on CL Command Definition Statements, XML or something else, I don't care, but we need a non-fixed format print descriptor language on the system.


Use Case:

Suppose I'm designing a Register Receipt for a Point of Sale application. I'd like to layout the receipt using barcodes, graphics, potentially the buyer's signature and of course text from the database.
I'd like to just code something in a script language or XML that creates the base PRTF object and then reference it in my programs.
