Side note: The product does not need to be removed before an update can be applied. An update can be applied by writing over the top of the existing files or running the install scripts with the new version. Any limitations for applying updates would be the result of your environment and/or file system. You may want to contact our Service team for help.
Let me start by agreeing, then pointing out you are not the first to ask for this and IBM have refused on the grounds that Legal Team would not be able to work out if you were Entitled to updates.
So, can I just include my comment on this here too, if IBM need to know if you are entitled, could this auto update contact and IBM User account which could be verified to ensure you are entitled to the updates.
I agree whole heartedly with this requirement, it should have been one of the first thing IBM put in the tool and it is a major road block again the tool being maintained at current level.
I can see this happening already, sites where I have installed it never seem to go back and update it.
I agree! ACS should update just like any other windows based software. Or if you are running on Linux an updater inside the product itself would be good. It's more difficult to have to remove the product directories, and then replace them.
add also the link to the download of the new version in the dialog that alerts on the presence of a new version.
