IBM Power Ideas Portal

This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Fix your ideas portal to allow a daily digest or just to introduce each new idea.

I'm already overwhelmed by hundreds of emails per day. I don't need to get an email for every idea and comment for that idea that's added within the categories I'm interested in. Why does this new approach have to completely ignore what worked in the past? Give me the option to control how I'm notified about new ideas or I have to unsubscribe so I can manage my email. This is a major step backward for me.

I take staying informed on potential ideas for change seriously and really don't need that system to create more pain for me professionally.

I am setting this Idea to "Not under consideration" because it is outside the IBM i product. However, I have passed the information along to the IBM Ideas team, and they are considering a solution. If you have further questions about a daily digest or notifications, or anything related to IBM Ideas tool/process, please send an e-mail directly to the IBM Ideas team at ideasibm@us.ibm.com.

Thank you. Yes, I'm getting no notifications or updates. I have to sign in and browse through the ones I want. Without being able to subscrible to a particular product or topic to get notifications of something new or updated prevents keeping these things top-of-mind to sign in and coninually poke around for items of interest.

The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a HIGH priority requirement that is important to address.

We have already noticed a decline in public voting after migration to the new tool.

Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT

Thank you for submitting this Idea. The IBM team is investigating potential solutions, but we'd like more information from you now that a few weeks have passed.

There was a flurry of activity during the migration from the RFE tool to the new IBM Ideas program at the end of March. Do you continue to see too many notifications, or has it settled to a manageable level? Do you believe the number of notifications differs from what you saw previously with the RFE tool?
