Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Allow Visual Explain query plan to be saved to local file

Currently Visual Explain has two options: you may save the diagram as an image, or save the query details to a performance monitor on the IBM i. I would like to see a third option available, to save the query details to a local PC file (and subsequently load from this file).

This would allow query plans to be shared more readily. The diagram is only so useful, as you lose all of the statistics. A performance monitor, on the other hand, is not as easy to distribute (which is relevant for us, as we support clients with systems for which we do not have direct access).
