ACS Should look for New Navigator on the correct HTTPS Port

When a system is configured for TLS, ACS attempts to open (and validate) the Navigator for i connection using HTTPS, but it does so on port 2002. By default, the server listens for HTTPS connections on port 2003, not port 2002. This means that, unless you specifically override the default ports when configuring the Admin1 server for encryption, neither the connection validation nor the Navigator link in ACS will work correctly.

ACS should switch to port 2003 for Navigator connections when the system is configured for secure connectivity.

When configuring for TLS, the ADMIN1 server will need to be restarted before the change takes effect. Once restarted, the correct port, 2003, is utilized. As mentioned by another user, the as-new-nav table entry can be verified. Launch to ACS will be to correct port, 2003.

Check the value of as-new-nav in the "Work with Service Table Entries": CFGTCP > 21 > 1

The port should have changed from 2002 to 2003 when you have configured NEW-NAV to use TLS.

But I can not understand why IBM implemented this solution instead have to entries in the table like other service:

    Service Port

    as-new-nav 2002
    as-new-nav-s 2003

With current implementation the port specified for as-new-nav will bu used when you verify Connection regardless if you specify "Use SSL for connection" or not.

Thank you for submitting your Idea to enhance IBM i Access Client Solutions (ACS). The scenario you are describing would be considered a defect. ACS does in fact query the server port mapper as you suggest. So if the port is incorrect, the defect would be in New Navigator not setting the value correctly. Please contact the IBM Service team and open a support ticket.
