Get the navigator for i to the client how we use it in the IBM i access for windows.

Some customer dont let or permit the access to IBM i navigator for i for permission of firewall, security or compliance etc..... a good better could be get back the manage of the navigator to include in the IACS Solutions, and use a another port to connect but you dont use a web browser with all options to management.

    Thank you for taking the time to submit this IBM Idea and share your feedback with IBM and the broader IBM i community.

    The CAAC has reviewed this Idea and, after careful consideration, does not recommend that IBM move forward with the request in its current form at this time.

    Reason: The CAAC understands that some organizations restrict browser access to IBM Navigator for i. However, the subgroup did not identify sufficient broad value in creating a separate locally installed Navigator client similar to the former IBM i Access for Windows delivery model. Navigator for i is designed as a web-based interface, and existing function-usage controls allow administrators to manage which users can access Navigator and its individual functions. Therefore, the CAAC does not recommend developing and maintaining a separate client-based version at this time.

    Although the CAAC is not recommending implementation of this request, Ideas such as this help IBM and the CAAC better understand the needs and priorities of the IBM i community. We appreciate your contribution and encourage you to continue submitting IBM Ideas and sharing your feedback.
