Add the ability to generate an ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram) to IBM i Access Client Solutions (iACS)

Deprecated Navigator used to have the ability to generate database maps and I'd like this ability back in iACS.

Just had a new person start this week and trying to get them started and this lacks. Not a good first impression on their exposure to IBM i.


There were some ideas in the past but they were declined so I thought I'd run it up the flag pole again.

    This ability is available for IBM i, delivered with IBM Bob - Premium package for i.

    This package includes the /erd command, which generates entity relationship diagrams for IBM i tables.
    There is no plan to add this support to Access Client Solutions (ACS).

    IBM has the IBM Data Studio product which is free and offers this (as well as a design tool).

    The only problem is that the product seems more or less dead and doesn't support all IBM i DB2 features.

    This is one of the functions that I miss. For some reason the COMMON advisory council (which has not changed membership in many years, maybe time for some fresh blood, maybe the new Architect will switch things up) does not feel this is important.
