Enable Job Description to be defined on Printer Device Description

When a print writer is started there is no option to specify a job description.
There are three supplied job descriptions:
QSPLPRTW - used for all local and LAN Writers
QSPLAFPW - used for local and LAN writers for IPDS printers configured with AFP as *YES
QSPLRMTW - used for remote writers
We also use infoprint server.

We use the library list to find page and form definitions (PAGDFN and FORMDF).

If the job description could be specified when the writer is started then the underlying library list can also be specified thereby enabling specific writers to specific functions.

Use Case:

We have multiple environments, development, test/QA and production and multiple versions within that structure. We have objects related to the writer job and mapping programs in a similar library structure.

With the ability to specify a job description to a writer a specific writer can be linked to specific environment.

.While there are already a staggering number of parameters on the printer device description, a JOBD parameter would provide quite a few benefits. The vast majority of the changes required would be in the Device Configuration component, so that team will determine when this would be implemented.

IBM has received the requirement and is evaluating it. IBM will provide a response after evaluation is complete.
