IBM Power Ideas Portal

This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

Typing Y or N to answer Yes or No in Access Client Solutions dialog boxes

Windows dialog boxes typically allow typing Y or N instead of clicking the Yes or No buttons, and typically allow hitting Enter instead of clicking the OK button (or the Cancel button, depending on the default selection). I'd like the same ability in ACS dialog boxes.

Use Case:

See the description.

Accelerator keys are available for many items including the specific screens you mentioned. On Windows, the accelerator keys are enabled by pressing the Alt key. If the item has an accelerator defined, you will see a letter underlined on the item. To select the button or menu item, select the Alt key in combination with the underlined letter.

IBM has received this requirement and is evaluating it. A response will be provided when evaluation is complete.

Examples: It'd be great to type Y or N in response to "Save Workstation Profile" when the file already exists, or to hit Enter when finished typing into "Edit Selected System." Screenshots uploaded.
