Need Maintenance mode switch for FW Update on SR-IOV cards

we have several SR_IOV config running wit SR_IOV native with NIB, vNIC Failover, SR-IOV VF for SEA etc.
The problem we detected is that when doing a FW update for the SR-IOV cards we have either to do a lot of manual taks to switch to vNIC Failover or NIB etc, finding out slots and pors and using long HMC commands etc. For this we want to have e.g. a HMC maintenance command to start FW update on cards and all subsequent task should be handled by HMC and PowerVM. Also we found out that when FW update starts there is no signal like link down send to the client so we have a dark phase where CLient is dead seen from LAN point of view.

    This is a duplicate of

Feature introduced in 950 HMC will help validate impacts if VIOS maintenance is required i.e. upgrading/updating VIOS or shutting down VIOS for maintenance. There is follow on item to prepare as well which will enable vNIC failover from one vios to another vios.
Hence please follow the URL for progress.
