PowerVM VIOS, the Shared Ethernet Adapter device (SEA) needs support for IEEE802.3 Ethernet frame type

The SEA device in all VIOS releases is only designed for handling the EthernetV2 frame type with TCP/IP checksum offloading and the largesend/large_receive features.
If a VIO client LPAR (IBMi or AIX or Linux) is configured to use IP interfaces with IEEE802.3 Ethernet frame type, then the SEA device doesn't handle the checksum offloading, largesend/large_receive right and packets are sent to the external network without a valid TCP checksum.
This leads to the situation that these LPARs are not able to communicate with systems in the external network.
