This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

HMC Group Tags are lost whenever an LPAR is migrated from one system to another. We use these tags to identify the workload and we have to re-create the tags every time we do LPM on the LPARs.

Thank you for considering this for a future release. These are incredibly useful to help differentiate among large groups of HMC managed LPARs.
It will be sorely missed until description and tags can be part of the LPAR definition, and thus both (a) migrate during an LPM, (b) be visible in a multi-HMC-per-site solution without redefining it in all HMCs. Otherwise, if an LPM wipes out all the work of tagging, why use it? (we LPM a few times a year, and wouldn't want to have to redo them each time) Same with description, btw, which does migrate with LPM, but only seems to be visible from the HMC you originated the description on (and not the e.g. second redundant one?).
