Port 22 is to be changed for HMC access(SSH)

The port 22 is fixed for SSH within HMC. As per our Information Security Observation, The known port 22 is vulnerable and can be hacked.
We require to change this port to some other number.

Discussing with our security team, even if the port is changed from 22 to any other port, a NMAP scan can expose it on the new port. So ability to change the ssh port doesn't solve the problem completely. Couple of alternate options that can be tried are
    1. Lock down the ssh login to not use password and use only authorized keys (with HMC V9 R1 920, we have the option to disable password based login).
    2. Allow incoming from specific IP addresses instead of allow incoming from all IP address.

Hope this helps to address your concern on using ssh with port 22

    Hi,

Currently, the ssh port on the HMC is fixed and cannot be changed. We are evaluating your request.

    Thanks.
