This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Hi IBM Developer Team,
yes, I use the mkauthkey command, but it's terrible.
It would be much easier just to store the file like possible in the storage systems.
Thank you !
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
HMC command mkauthkeys can be used to add SSH key as an authorized key. Rudi also has mentioned about the steps that can be used. Please let us know if this addresses the requirement or if there is any additional requirement.
Thanks.
Hello Stephan,
We have used the information which can be found in a IBM KB item:
Sending HMC commands from a CL program:
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/643885
After doing that we have not had any problems, sending commands to the HMC from IBM i.
Hopefully that helps.
Greetings Rudi
The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed.
We see this as an improvement in useability that might promote more secure interactions with the HMC. Since this function is available in the Flash/Storewize family it would have a consistent approach.
Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.
