This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

As discussed in the comments, this new opcode is not necessary since the RESET opcode accomplishes the same thing.
Maybe there could be a hint/example in the RESET documentation with inz(*likeds), so you can search for it. I think as I have watched the RESET documentation I've only seen that the result field could be "name (variable or record format)" and have missed the small DS example below.
You are right - RESET does what I want.
Thanks for the hint.
Ignore the Inz(*LIkeDS) bit - I see you have coded that I just missed it.
So the simple answer is that RESET does what you want - no need for a new op-code.
I don't understand the requirement.
Why not add Inz(*LikeDS) to the DS definition then the template initialization will be cloned along with the field definitions? Once you have done that then the RESET op-code will do what you want
The RESET opcode already does this.
