Access Client Solutions - OpenSource Packages Management , IBM should provide standard http or https REPO for yum update

Access Client Solutions - OpenSource Packages Management , IBM should provide standard http or https REPO for yum update, NOT ftp site.

Use Case:

Server or client should not direct access internet for package update even through have firewall.

We need to use RedHat satellite or Nexus to build Yum Repo server.
IBM should provide standart yum server protocol( http or https), NOT ftp server.

As mentioned in the Discussion section, this support is available by making the referenced configuration change. Since the configuration change is not part of Access Client Solutions, this RFE will be Declined.

http and https suppport is already implemented, you just have to witch protocol in the ibm.repo file (/QOpenSys/etc/yum/repos.d/ibm.repo). Have a look here: https://bitbucket.org/ibmi/opensource/src/master/docs/yum/

You can also use the RedHat Satellite to sync the IBM repo and then access the the repo on the satellite server. We do that at our shop and also utilize the Life Cycle feature on the Satellite
