Remove unnecessary share of qdirsrv

In an effort to mitigate the threat of ransomware we are evaluating the reason for all shares exposed on our IBM i servers.
See the following:
https://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l/202002/msg00762.html
The only default share supplied by IBM is /QIBM/ProdData/OS400/DirSrv
I am NOT talking about removing the directory, just the share associated with that directory.
According to the support case:
<snip>
This share was created to be able to access the old LDAP ADMIN GUI for the pc
/QIBM/ProdData/OS400/DirSrv/UserTools/Windows
This is no longer needed
</snip>

    LDAP QDirSrv share removal has been provided for the IBM i supported releases. The LDAP QDirSrv share is not created by default on IBM i 7.5 when installing the LDAP product. For PTFs providing the removal on the IBM i releases prior to 7.5, see IBM Tivoli Directory Server for i (LDAP) QDirSrv Share Removal: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6576245

    This is a valid requirement.

    The share can also be stopped by iNav, the steps are documented here, https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_74/rzahl/rzahlstopflshring.htm .

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Power Systems
    Product - IBM i
    Component - Networking
    Operating system - IBM i
    Source - Client

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Power Systems
    Product - IBM i
    Component - IFS (Integrated File System) and Servers
    Operating system - IBM i
    Source - Client

    I would ask IBM to seriously consider my request https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=107575 so we can apply security at share level (and not the underlying object security) so we can easily block such shares from access by everyone.

    They are some shops that still use this, you can basically modify your startup script to stop the service or dismount the resource. Just be aware some downstream client tools might stop working. If you want to mitigate ransomware consider firewall permissions or rules to control services access to the machine.
