Enhance Rational Developer for i to support new 5250 AFDDS capability (see related RFEs). Enhance the RDi Screen Designer to generate and maintain DDS containing AFDDS keywords. This would enable IBM i programmers to upgrade their "green screen" sign-on and application displays with fonts, color logos and overlays as they can do today on AFPDS printers, as well as PC controls such as list boxes, combo boxes, push buttons, radio buttons, etc.
When dragging display fields from the palette, allow the field to be positioned to any location on the screen.
When dragging display fields from the palette, automatically create and update the ?POSITION? DDS keyword for the field position anywhere on the screen.
Allow for ?OVERLAY? field types and display the overlay on the RDi Screen Designer view.
Display company logo and background on Qinter sign-on display. (See the attached document for an example)
RPG programmers could develop GUI applications which:
? Display subfiles as list boxes, real pushbuttons and drop-down lists.
? Display company dashboard with list boxes and graphs.
? Display employee photos with personnel applications.
? Display property photos with real estate applications.

If I understand correctly.
The desired enhancement is to allow new keywords such as OVERLAY and POSITION in DSFP DDS and have that supported by the 5250 data stream.
Once that is in place, you would like the ability to design such screens using RDi.
Since the operating system first needs to decide whether it can support this. We will move the requirement to them.
