Due to some business requirement I was generating a Data Overview Diagram from some of the tables from our database. I created the overview diagram and then added some additional information, but couldn't find any option to save the overview diagram so that I can refer to the document for any further amendments. The only options available are to print or save it as an image file. Now when I really need to make some changes (add some new table to the existing diagram) to the diagram I have to redo all the work that I have done before which was just a loss of my 2 hours time.
Will it not be very helpful to have an option to save the overview diagram for future references.
Please refer to the attached document for further references.
Thanks & Regards
Dibs
From RBD/RDpi open data Perspective
Connect to a database using Data Source Explorer
Expand the tables under a specific Schema
Select the related tables
Right click the mouse and select Add to Overview Diagram
In the Overview Diagram Selection screen check Infer implicit relationship box and click OK
The overview diagram builds up and shows in a view
Now make some changes in the diagram and try to save it for future reference

This RFE has been re-evaluated. Due to the relatively low number of votes, this RFE is now being declined.
Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
Product family - Programming Languages
Product - Developer for Power Systems
For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
Brand - Rational
Product family - Design & development
Product - Developer for Power Systems
This RFE will be under consideration for a future release. Status has been updated to Uncommitted Candidate.
This RFE is consistent with our strategy and product roadmap and IBM is continuing to evaluate.
Apart from having an option to save the data overview diagram, I would like to have another feature which will allow me to add new tables in the existing overview diagram build from existing tables first time. Currently if I need to add a new table in the existing data overview diagram in RBD/RDPi regenerates a new data overview diagram, therefore I have to reformat the data overview diagram gain from the beginning. By having an option to add new tables to the existing data overview diagram will really save time and effort.
Thanks & Regards
Dibs
