Set Virtual Machine Name by DNS lookup on IP address chosen

On an image deploy you have to enter a virtual machine name and then either enter in an IP or have it select from the pool. There is no link to my DNS servers to create an A entry for that name.
Also, I want to have a list of predefined names that the user community can select from instead of having to enter their own. I have the entries created for the IP pool in the reverse DNS and a simple NSLOOKUP can find the name from the chosen IP address.
Systems Director did have this functionality and we miss this now in PowerVC.

Any chance we can have it work with Windows DNS server as well? I think the majority of companies out there are Windows based and use the built in Windows Server DNS Server.

Thanks for the great suggestions! PowerVC 1.3.1 introduced support for integrating with Infoblox DNS appliances to make auto-updating the entries seamless (https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSXK2N_1.3.2/com.ibm.powervc.standard.help.doc/powervc_configuring_dns_authority_hmc.html). For other scenarios, you can use a custom cloud-init script at boot time to integrate with other DNS schemes.
