Many customers want to mount a subdirectory in a share directly onto AIX rather than having to navigate to it from the top of the share. Not having this feature makes integrating smbc into cstuomers' business environments more cumbersome. Other SM...

To enhance LKU tool monitoring I suggest to add a timestamp on the standard output at each main step beginning ( ex : 16:41 The live update preview ; 16:46 Creating rootvg for boot of surrogate. 16:55 Starting the surrogate LPAR? Moving workload t...
AIX LKU improved performance for checkpoint/restart of shared memory attachments to reduce blackout duration.
Customers using AIX Live Kernel Update driven by PowerVC in an environment with many shared memory attachments will benefit by being able to reliably use LKU without losing connection or having other consequences of a long blackout period in LKU.
Hitting a limitation and if any applications area accessing /dev/kmem during an LKU, it will cause it to fail.
Please find the below investigation & work around report for live update, and let me know if any concerns, thanks.. @Two type of issues stopping our Live update project:- 1- The following process stopping ( /dev/kem Java & machine.jar (App...

A feature of Linux and Solaris is the auditd daemon for logging audit events. Auditd has the ability to forward audit events to a remote auditd logger for centralised logging of audit events. AIX has no ability except through syslog, which, due to...
LUN_RESET delay/timeout after I/O timeout should be a customisable value
We have noticed a significant impact in terms of IO paused after IO timeouts since the introduction of IJ07805 / IJ07842 / IJ10537. We consider that the new timers added to the LUN Reset should be part of the ODM definition for the disk class in o...
I didn't knowthat RedHat has implemented nfsiostat command for performing NFS real-time monitoring. Unfortunately, nfsiostat command does not exist on AIX systems. However, there are NFS clients and NFS servers on AIX systems too that could be mon...
