Default selection has been changed to "No" in the warning pop-up that appears when power off system is selected with lpars running.
An enhancement is planned to change the default selection to "No" in the warning pop-up window when lpars are running.
When Power Off system is selected , there is a pop up with a "Yes" or "No" question if there are lpars running in the system and if user selects "yes", then there is another pop up asking to choose "Normal Power Off" or "Fast Power Off" and then Power Off is done. So there are 2 pop-up's or selections before a system is powered off. Also, there is a specific task for "Powering Off" a system and task roles can be created in such a way that only specific or required HMC users have access to Power Off a system. Given that, If the default option in the confirmation dialog is changed to "No" would that address your concern? Which means pressing Enter Key unknowingly would cancel the Power Off and user has to explicitly select the Yes option.
Hi,
When a Power off at system level is done, athere are 2 confirmation panels that pop up before the Power Off is done. The 1st confirmation mentions about running lpars and then you have the option to choose normal or fast Power off. So the alert or warning is already there. However, there is a similar request with RFE 123068. Is the request in this RFE to avoid any accidental issues like mentioned in RFE 123068 ?
Thanks.
.That's already there. In the view you show, when you attempt to power off a system with running partitions, you get a warning as shown in the attachment.
what i mean to say is when i am on ecran "system manager > servers > server1" where we can manager the LPAR, i send an attachments with the screen i mean.
Attachment (Description): hmc screen
.When you say "In HMC when it is inside the servers", do you mean the Integrated Virtualization Manager (IVM) that runs in the VIOS?
Creating a new RFE based on Community RFE #79055 in product Power Hardware Management Console.
