This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Can you please help with the information requested in the previous comment?
Based on the latest request, after the lpar crash or system dump, do you restart the lpars manually ? or are they enabled with auto-start such that they restart automatically?
thank you for the reply. unfortunately we seem to be misunderstood (there arent really 3 scenarios, but 1).
The solution proposed in Scenario 1 won't work in our use case. Therefore we rephrased our RFE:
We have the need to save new values to a profile, when adjusting the min and max CPU and Memory setting.
Often we are not able to reboot the system at this time. We schedule mainenance window within the next weeks.
If the LPAR crashes BEFORE the scheduled maintanance it would be great to have a option that the new profile is
used at startup and not the current LPAR settings.
This should work both on LPAR Crash AND a complete system dump.
We see our rfe best implemented as an option which could be choosen by a checkbox/switch after changing the profile.
Hi,
1. For scenario 1, if you enable "Save Configuration Changes to Profile", then any changes made dynamically will be automatically saved to the last activated profile. Please see the blog at https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/wikis/home?lang=en_us#!/wiki/Power%20Systems/page/Synchronize%20Current%20Configuration%20and%20configuration%20change%20on%20inactive%20partition%20in%20HMC%20Enhanced%20UI for more details.
2. For this case, do you refer to the partition restart after a crash? or a complete system dump?
3. Yes, if there are settings which can't be modified dynamically, then it would need a shutdown & restart. Can you please specify which settings you faced problems with ?
Thanks.
