SQL view to see what files are used and what settings are used on a report written using Query 400. I realize DSPPGMREF can be used but this does not give all of the settings used in constructing the report such as the settings in the Select output type and output form option.
A new Systems administrator is appointed for an IBM I system in a company that has been with IBM for 20 + years, in that time over 1000 + queries have been written in Query 400 having the output either as a database file as a new file, replacing a file, new member, replace member or add to member or printouts producing spool files with cover and footer pages containing information. The intention is to switch these over to SQL and by using a SQL view that will give a report on all the queries and how they are constructed including information on the output types and any text included in printed header or footer pages assisted in getting the queries modernized and sorting out what queries were no longer required.

Hello,
Our strategy for Query/400 is to direct client enhancements to consider an alternative approach provided by Db2 Web Query. Db2 Web Query includes many useful features, including a Query/400 discovery tool to help with understanding queries. It also includes a way to auto generate (import) a Db2 Web Query report from the Query/400 definitions.
