DCM - New Digital certificate manager

The current certificate manager has been a workhorse for any work with certificates over the years. However, it is not heterogeneous integrated into the current ACS (nor web administration).

Also visual presentation of certificates, stores and chains is not easy to detect from the current layout. ( No tree layout)

Any other easy way to work with .KDB files, like command line tools are not easy to find or even does not work. ( Like the domino editor / gsk)

Use Case:

I will prefer a tab in ACS for DCM and a CLI so the process can be automated / scripted.

There is a typo in the Comment below. Repeating the Comment with the typo corrected (2002 should be 2001):

A new GUI interface has been delivered for DCM. Once the latest security and http ptf group has been applied, you can reach this new interface using the following url: Http://host name:2001/DCM

Note, this function is only available in IBM i 7.4. Also part of the 7.4 release is the ability to programmatically interact with DCM using the new API interfaces that were delivered in the base of IBM i 7.4.

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a high priority requirement that is important to be addressed. This RFE would remove some major obstacles to implementing security best practices. Digital Certificates are notoriously difficult for customers to understand -- help is needed.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a high priority requirement that is important to address.

The DCM used today is outdated and is not up to standard with other current DCMs. An updated DCM for IBM i will make system management easier across a POWER system estate and increaser audit reliability.

Add CEAC comment that covers: Probably no work-around, Broad appeal to SMB customers, High business value and marketing appeal  (including strategic, gap in the market)

Background: The CEAC members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT
