ACS RSS SQL Formatting issue with (--) comments

The SQL formatting in ACS RSS version 1.1.8.4 build 0160 incorrectly format double dash (--) comments. The formatter indents these comments 5 spaces.

I can understand if the -- comment does not start in position 1 but the auto comment tool puts those -- in position 1 and the formatting should just ignore these comment line.

Use Case:

Write or paste a SQL statement into the RSS.

Comment out a single line using CTRL+/.

Format the statement.

Now uncomment the commented line.

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a “nice to have” low priority feature. Although it is an annoyance that would be good to fix, it does not prevent anyone from doing their work.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

For more information about CAAC, see www.common.org/caac

For more details about CAAC's role with RFEs, see http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com/Blogs/i-Can/May-2017/COMMON-Americas-Advisory-Council-%28CAAC%29-and-RFEs/

IBM understands this request and will consider it for a future code update, though no commitment is made or implied.
