RELATED IDEAS

Import source code preserving SRCDTA and SRCSEQ

Please add the ability to import source code from PC's or the IFS where the 3 source member fields are not separated by a comma or *TAB.


Use Case:

I have source code that I exported on another system to a thumb drive using RDi.

When I tried to import the code using ACS, there is no option that provides for the import of a 1 field record into the 3 source member fields: SRCSEQ, SRCDTA and SRCDAT.

I do not have RDi to use to import the code at this location.

ACS and RDi need to work together and exchange data.

In addition, with the availability of open source tools, this need has become a real need.

    Thank you for submitting a Request For Enhancement. At this time, we are declining this request. There are two possible alternatives:
    1. Since RDi was used to export the source, the best option is to use RDi to import it.
    2. You could also contact IBM i Customized Services (https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-i-customized-services ) for building a customized tool for uploading the source.
