Nav4i Fingerprinting

Nav4i uses the fingerprinting functionality of a browser. In the link below is described what the impact of allowing fingerprinting in a browser does:https://blog.mozilla.org/firefox/how-to-block-fingerprinting-with-firefox/

Use Case:

As Firefox only has the option to Allow Fingerprinting of not to allow it. It is not possible to my knowledge to only allow fingerprinting for a specific IP address.
The added case is just one example of where Nav4i needs the fingerprinting to be set to allow in order for it to work. It is also used in the Advanced Job Scheduler in Nav4i to set the time format.

This requirement has been delivered as part of the new IBM Navigator for i GUI interface. Details on how to access and use this new interface can be found at: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6483299

The support has been delivered on IBM i 7.3 & 7.4 and can be obtained by loading and installing the Latest HTTP PTF Group

    IBM i 7.3 - Group PTF SF99722 level 32 or higher
    IBM i 7.4 - Group PTF SF99662 level 13 or higher

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement for Navigator that should be addressed. The world is headed toward Multi Factor Authentication -- this is a piece of that, and it needs to fit into a broader need for MFA, which we think is a higher priority requirement.

The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed.

This is part of a larger security topic, with a growing emphasis on security and privacy.
We recommend IBM review this as part of future IBM i Releases specifically we do not want to see Nav4i failing to work as planned if the user changes their browser setting to stop tracking and or protect more of their privacy.

    Hello IBM_Systems_Developer,

Nav4i does require fingerprinting for getting the right time zone and time.

This is something which bring this request to a higher design level, when using Nav4i, when looking at system data does it matter in which time zone my browser is running?

Not exactly sure what the request is here. The Navigator works for with fingerprinting turned off and turned on. What is the use case trying to be obtained ?
