RDI: rendering a screen takes forever - should cache field reference file

I'm working from home via VPN.

When editing a subfile in a display file it takes forever to render the screen using the screen designer. A total of 28 fields in the subfile control and subfile took 10 minutes to render. I think that the cause is the way it retrieves the information from the field reference file. As far as I could see it fetches the information for one field at a time and each took about 30 seconds. I don't understand why it doesn't retrieve the entire field reference file once (caching) and render the screen using it.

But at it is now it is more or less useless.

    Just to be clear. My connection is not slow. And it works fast for all other applications but for RDI.

    The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM not implement this request.

    This is not a problem with RDi, it is a problem with the Internet spead.

    Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual IBM Ideas on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your Idea.
