WRKSMTPUSR - Same alias may be used for more than one user when unique for each domain.

In CHGSMTPA we have 3 different domain.

We have these users:

FAKTURA1 e-mail: post@bladetmotgift.no

FAKTURA5 e-mail: post@bladetfokus.no

FAKTURA6 e-mail: post@bladetbevis.no

In WRKDIRE there is no problem, but in WRKSMTPUSR it's not possible.

TCP5064 Reason code 2. Alias is already in use.

I suggest the same alias may be used for more than one user when unique for each domain.

Why should they not fix this ias t was working when SMTP attributes where set to *SDD, but not when using *SMTP? It is a bug. The support for this is already there in the SMTP server, it only the validation when using ADDSMTPUSR and CHGSMTPUSR commands. It is possible, but not supported, to implement this by manipulate QTCPTMM/CONFIG/USERS.DAT, but it will also break the possibility to modify the user with WRKSMTPUSR and CHGSMTPUSR. So all it takes to fix this is to change the validation for the CL commands

The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM not implement this request.

There are other options to do this. Try CHGSMTPA ORIGINATOR parameter to specify the from address.

CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual IBM Ideas on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your Idea.

Have you tried using the CHGSMTPA ORIGINATOR parameter to specify the from address, this works for me.

    I hope this helps
