Thank you for taking the time to submit your Idea. After careful consideration, we know that we cannot deliver your requested enhancement soon, so it is being declined. However, your Idea does align with the future strategy of our product and we believe it may have future value, so we will add it to an internal list for us to keep in mind for the future.

IBM agrees with this request and is still using it as input to the planning process. However, at this time it is not committed to our plan. This request will be updated in the future if IBM implements it.

    Both functions are needed:
    1. email domain name required to support IDN!
    2. Email prefix ( the left characters of the @ symbol in the email address) required to have IDN support!

IDN requires a lot of update to existing email system. 4 Request for Comments (RFC) were created by Internet Engineering Task Force(IETF) for the IDN:
    1. RFC 6530: Overview and Framework for Internationalized Email
    2. RFC 6531: SMTP Extension for Internationalized Email
    3. RFC 6532: Internationalized Email Headers
    4. RFC 6533: Internationalized Delivery Status and Disposition Notifications

We need evaluate what can be added to IBM i SMTP email system and when.

To help prioritizing the IDN support, can you describe what IDN features are used in your business environment?
    1. Is the email domain name required to support IDN ?
    2. Is the email prefix ( the left characters of the @ symbol in the email address) required to have IDN support?
