Sql calculate with the smalest decimal
calculate (in a Programm or in STRSQL)
select Sum(1,25), sum(1,25/100)*19 from unique-file where unique-key in(a, b) --> 2 record
Show: 2,50 0,38 and that is wrong.
of course if i think of it, ich can calculate with Dec or do the multiplicate first time.
When i Test this funktion with 100 or more Records (instead of 2) the result is right.
So please give us a
set calculate thru or a
select calc(sum(1,25)), calc(sum(1,25/100)*19) from ....with the result
2,50 0,475 or
2,50 0,47 (in case off 9,2 result size)

Our decimal arithmetic rules have been established for a very long time and match the other members of the Db2 family. We do not plan to provide an alternate way to calculate results.
As the writer of a query that performs decimal arithmetic, you need to consider your data and the size of the expected result value. To get the appropriate result for your query, use a CAST within your calculations to ensure decimal precision and scale are adequate for each step along the way.
For example,
select sum(1,25), sum(cast(1,25 as decimal(6,3))/100)*19) from ...
