would like the a function in client access solutions 5250 emulator to automatically close the session once the users sign off
we have Single Sign ON with Keberos set up and right now when the user signs off the session, the user is returned to a sign on screen and has to close the session to get signed back on. one idea would be having a button that would re establish the authentication or a function that would automatically close the session once the user signs off.
in a 5250 session user leaves for coffee break and signs off or the application.
when the user comes back the 5250 sign on screen is presented. However the OS400 passwords are set to *NONE and are only obtained thur Active directory. the user has to close the session and then start it again. to sign back on.

We already have a feature available for this. Make sure the Tool bar is visible (View->Toolbar). Right click on the Toolbar and select Add button. On the left side, select Communication. Select the "Log in" button, then Add. That will add the button to the Toolbar. When the 5250 session is at a sign-on screen, selecting that button should re-initiate the login.
Creating a new RFE based on Community RFE #93542 in product IBM i.
There is an host function named "Log in" that disconnects and reconnects in one step. You can assign that to a button on the toolbar.
Have you tried adding a toolbar button for disconnect and connect? That would eliminate closing the session. You might even be able to write a macro assigned to a button that would do the disconnect followed by the connect.
