This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

As we consider this request, we need some clarification on the requirements:
1. Is a single results file sufficient? If so, which set of results would you expect to be in the file? For example, if the script contained multiple queries, the GUI provides a different tab for each set of results. Which set of results would you expect to be in the file?
2. Our assumption is that you don't want the Run SQL Scripts window to appear at all. Is that true?
3. If #2 is true, is it a requirement that the command also be able to run directly on an IBM i partition or is it acceptable to restrict it to a workstation/PC?
4. What is the reason that CLDOWNLOAD isn't sufficient for what you need? What types of commands/stmts are needed making CLDOWNLOAD insufficient?
Please note that similar tasks could be done with the "CLDOWNLOAD" plugin:
for instance, run with /plugin=CLDOWNLOAD /system=name /sql="select * from schema/table" /clientfile=out.xlsx
