Provide an Obscure Parameter attribute to SQL Functions for security purposes

When running a UDTF or UDF or even a stored procedure, we may be passing in sensitive information, such as passwords, security codes or credit card numbers. Similar to CL Command's DSPINPUT (display input) parameter, we need a way to hide that sen...

Watchesspawning QSCWCHPS jobs

When you create a message queue watch, the OS spawns a QSCWCHPS job whenever the specified message ID is generated. That QSCWCHPS job determines if it's for the specified message queue and, if it is, executes the watch program. This causes a treme...

Code enhancement to handle VIOS Path loss issues during Brocade haReboot - There have been multiple outages experienced in IBM VIO Server(VIOS) managed environment, during storage related events. The haReboot performed on Brocade SAN switches are supposed to be non-disruptive, but in reality they do take a finite amount of time. In VIO managed environments, this has sometimes resulted in impact and affected availability. During a haReboot the fabric services are not available and hence when the VIOS queries the Name server on the switch, it may not get the desired response due to the haReboot in progress. This results in the VIOS logging out and attempting to log back in again, resulting in path failures at the VIOS. To prevent the same from happening, the VIOS code can be updated to include an appropriate time interval that kicks in as and when the haReboot is in progress. The VIOS will then wait for this interval and pause any activity, before querying the name server again. The assumption is that the haReboot RSCN notification is sent correctly by the Brocade switches and received by the VIO servers. If not, then this can be worked out jointly by Brocade and IBM, to prevent outages in the future. The referenced Support Case has additional information.

among all the different vendor servers, the IBM VIOS managed AIX server environments seem to be susceptible and have experienced outages as and when haReboot is performed.

Make the control panel more physically accessible (specific issue starting with Power 9 Tower models).

It would be useful so anyone actually using the control doesn't have to lay on the floor to read it. It should be readily accessible for anyone using it. (i.e. Performing system installs, repairs, etc. when physical access is needed to it.)

Allow for case option in RPG Procedure Wizard

I love the RPG procedure wizard for creating my RPG procedures. However, there is one thing that I think would make it better. If there was a way to be able to specify the case of the text in much the same way you can specify how you want the "'EN...

SQL view containing printer IP addresses

I would like an SQL view containing printer IP addresses. This could be a column added to QSYS2.OBJECT_STATISTICS and would return the "RmtLocName" value that is found on the "Display Device Description" panel of the WrkDevD command. Use Case: I h...

IBM i ACS Task Pane Should be Customizeable
