This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:

Product family - Programming Languages
Product - Developer for Power Systems
For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
Brand - Rational
Product family - Design & development
Product - Developer for Power Systems
The requested information was not provided and the RFE is being closed.
Feel free to resubmit this RFE with the information that was requested.
Please also consider the need to show DSPATR(ND) items with some sort of outline. If there are DPATR(ND) items I have to know to move my cursor over the position to select the field. In browse mode there is no way to select DSPATR(ND) items.
This RFE is consistent with our strategy and product roadmap and IBM is continuing to evaluate.
Hi Jeff,
If I understand you correctly, the pain point is working with overlapping fields on the design page. In CODE Designer this was handled by respecting indicators on the design mode, but in Screen Designer this was a decision up front that the effect of condition indicators would be shown on the preview page. So this goes against one of the basic design decision.
However, we could address the pain point by visually highlighting overlapping fields and allowing the user to pick which one is on top, using the context menu. Would you accept rescoping the RFE to this latter suggestion?
