Create shortcut to 5250 display and printer sessions

Provide an easy (user friendly) method of creating a shortcut to a 5250 display or printer session from IBM i Access Client Solutions.

Use Case:

Currently, when I open the 5250 session manager and right click on a session, I have the option to copy it to the desktop, but it should also (or instead) have an option to create a shortcut to this session. The problem with the copy is that when the .hod file is copied to the desktop and opened, any changes to the session are saved to the file on the desktop and not to the file in the configuration root path. So if the user opens the session from the iACS menu or session manager, the changes they made are not there. Essentially, they have two different copies of their session.

We will provide an option on 5250 Session Manager to open the location of the configuration files: File->Open Directory
From there, you can create a shortcut (on Windows) or an alias (on Mac) and move it to the location of our choice.

This is planned for our April 2020 update.

IBM has received this requirement and is evaluating it. A response will be provided when evaluation is complete.

another option is to add to the right click an option 'open file location'

under windows, the attended effect is opening the explorer. From there it is so easy to create shortcut, copy, remove, change, ...
    under other system, no idea
