IBM i - IBM Systems Director Navigator Web server/ IBM i IBM HTTP Management Server bind to specific IP interfaces

Allow the IBM i IBM Systems Director Navigator Web server/ IBM i IBM HTTP Management Server to bind only to specific IP interfaces on a partition.

Use Case:

Customer is requesting that if possible we limit the : IBM Systems Director Navigator Web server (Port 2004 &2005) & IBM HTTP Management servers (port 2001 & 2010) to bind only to specific IP interfaces on a partition. This is to deny / block access or scanning from finding these ports on the client facing IP interfaces.

This is not possible with the Liberty server that is the engine for this interface. No plans on delivering.

    Hello,

To my knowledge this can be achieved by changing the "HTTP Web Adminstration server for i" using the "Admin"tab and the "All Servers" and "All HTTP servers" tab. There you can select the "Admin " HTTP server. Select "Manage Details" and select "Genera; Server Configuration". In there you have the option to specify the IP address and ports for this server to listen on.

I can only hope this is the answer for your problems/request. If not please feel 100 % to ignore this comment ;-)

    Greetings Rudi

You can use the IBM i build in firewall to block/access such traffic.
