This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This requirement has been delivered as part of the new IBM Navigator for i GUI interface. Details on how to access and use this new interface can be found at: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6483299
The support has been delivered on IBM i 7.3 & 7.4 and can be obtained by loading and installing the Latest HTTP PTF Group
IBM i 7.3 - Group PTF SF99722 level 32 or higher
IBM i 7.4 - Group PTF SF99662 level 13 or higher
The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM not implement this request. As the Submitter stated below, please reject this RFE. The need for printer support may be valid, but Michael Quigley should open a separate RFE for that part.
Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

Perhaps this would be better served on a separate RFE, but the thing I find totally missing for NetServer is the ability to work with shared printers. At times it is far preferred to route all output to a printer from a central location. We've found so handy to print IBM i reports, label jobs, etc. through a shared printer. If special forms are loaded on the printer, all output must come through a single source or PC documents (or other things) can end up printing on the special forms.
But there isn't really anywhere to manage what printers have already been shared via NetServer.
Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
Product family - Power Systems
Product - IBM i
Component - System Management
Operating system - IBM i
Source - Client
For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
Product family - Power Systems
Product - IBM i
Component - IFS (Integrated File System) and Servers
Operating system - IBM i
Source - Client
You can close this.
You are right i can use that. I will cancel this.
Thanks
Attachment (Description): Sample screenshot showing IFS Share Management in Nav4i
Hi Hoss,
Whilst IBM considers your request, have you looked at the IFS Share Management option in the Navigator for i (Nav4i) Interface.
This Browser-based GUI was designed to work alongside the ACS client for many of the GUI based tasks that used to be in DeadNav.
I will attach a screen shot of the sort of functionality that you should have for IFS share management today using Nav4i.
Hope this helps.
