Modernize Application Administration Interface in Navigator for i

The Application Administration interface i Navigator for i is old and klunky. It is also slow and unusable. The biggest problem is selecting a user profile - there is no search/find box and the list displays all user profiles on the system, which can be very slow if there are a lot of user profiles. It is also very annoying how the user profile list repositions to the top of the list when you select a profile, particularly with a lot of user profiles.

This interface is unlike the updated tasks in Navigator.

Please modernize the AppAdmin GUI.

Use Case:

I use the AppAdmin interface to customize access. I like how it displays a summary of my customizations. But the interface is old and slow and needs to be updated.

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed. Improving this interface would make it easier to manage authorities, especially for those not so familiar with doing so.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed. CEAC recognises the importance of this RFE and hopes IBM will deliver this as an ongoing program to improve the GUI admin interface
