We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by posting ideas and requests to this portal to enhance a Power product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,
Post an idea
Upvote ideas and add comments to ideas that matter most to you
Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The Power teams will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
IBM Unified Ideas Portal - https://ideas.ibm.com/ - Use this site to create or search for existing Ideas across all IBM products that are outside of Power, and track all of your personal interactions with all Ideas.

Any update on this RFE/Idea?
IBM has received the requirement and is evaluating it. IBM will provide a response after evaluation is complete.
To use that unattended restore you need to install LIC, add disks to ASP, press a lot of keys to accept time zone, confirm installation device that already knows (when using NFS), set time and date twice, and other etceteras.
When running a full system install from "D" with LIC and Initialize System with tape, virtual optical , NFS , performing an IPL from HMC or STRNETINS you need to press a lot of keys to install basic OS, and then continue with restore or OS install.
What I'm asking is an automatic way to install/restore the whole system with just performing IPL from "D" "Normal" from NFS or Tape, with no human intervention till install/restore concludes.
IBM needs more information to further assess your Request for Enhancement. The restore menu options 21, 22, and 23 currently have the ability to do an unattended restore. Refer to Step 6 in section IBM i Documentation > Recovering your system > Using restore menu options 21, 22, and 23 (https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/i/7.4?topic=menu-using-restore-options-21-22-23)
If this does not fit your needs, please outline your specific use case detailing the manual steps required. Thanks.
