Add command SQL service

The idea is based on the creation of a command-related SQL service. This service must return some information about the commands such as the program, source, and various parameters.

In addition, it would be very important that it returns the default values generated when creating the command. This could definitely be very convenient in release upgrade processes when one needs to verify the commands in QSYS (unfortunately) changed.

    IBM will use this Idea as input to planning, but no commitment is made or implied. This Idea will be updated in the future if IBM implements it.

    The command-specific information is available today through the COMMAND_INFO view.

    IBM is accepting this Idea as a request for a new service that would return parameter information, including the initial defaults for parameters.

    There is already an SQL service for commands QSYS2.COMMAND_INFO: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/i/7.5?topic=services-command-info-view

    It will return the most of the things you are asking for, but it will not return the commands parameters.

    To see if a command have changed defaults, you can use the QSYS2.OBJECT_STATISTICS, however, it will not show which parameter that have been changed from default.

    You can use a combination of QSYS2.COMMAND_INFO and QSYS2.OBJECT_STATISTICS to get command info and if the defaults have been changed.

    This is an example of listing the commands in QSYS:

    select A.*, B.APAR_ID, B.USER_CHANGED from QSYS2.COMMAND_INFO A, lateral (select APAR_ID, USER_CHANGED from table(QSYS2.OBJECT_STATISTICS(COMMAND_LIBRARY, '*CMD', COMMAND_NAME))) B where A.COMMAND_LIBRARY = 'QSYS';
