Sql Update using Common Table Expresions

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

Currently an UPDATE statement that attempts to update a field with the selected value from a Common table expression causes an SQLCODE -199 with SQLSTATE 42601: "Illegal use of KeyWord UPDATE. Token ( SELECT VALUES was expected" --or something similar, sorry my available IBM i is in Spanish-- :

With T1 as ( SELECT  ... FROM Mo@Test/Tabl ), T2 as ( Select ... From T1 )
Update Mo@Test/Tables Tabl
Set RawData = ( Select T2.Fld2 FROM T2 Where ( T2.Fld_1 = Tabl.Fld_1 );

you can achieve that using nested-table-expression:

Update Mo@Test.Tabl
Set RawData = ( Select T2.Fld_2
From ( Select ... From ( SELECT ... FROM Mo@Test.Tabl ) as T1 ) as T2
Where ( T2.Fld_1 = Tabl.Fld_1 );

but is less clear and harder to maintain

    While we embrace the use of Common Table Expressions to make SQL statements easier to understand, we do not plan to implement this request at this time. The database team has a very long list of requests that are considered higher priority. It is unlikely that we would be able to implement this any time soon so it is being closed. We will keep track of this request internally so that it can be considered in the future.
