Integration of iIBM i Access database functions into RD Power

While bringing back the Database perspective was a step in the right direction, the IBM i Access database functions are much more complete, especially Visual Explain .
I'd like to see the IBM i Access DB functions to be available as a plugin that could be added to RD Power.
In future versions I would like more integration, for instance, when I'm editing a SQLRPGLE source, be able to "Explain" the SQL statement from Lpex.

Use Case:

Developer is creating a program that uses SQL and want to tune it.
Developer selects an SQL statement in the program and use an and option to Run Visual Explain on it.
Results are shown in a DB2 for i Explain view.

The Visual Explain feature is now available through ACS, so the desired functionality is now possible. If you have specific ideas to improve usability, feel free to open another RFE.

As of 9.5.0.3 some of this functionality is now delivered.
From a SQLRPGLE member you can launch Run SQL Scripts. The ACS will be launch, the database connected to, and the RSS will be prepopulated with your selection in the SQLRPGLE member.
    I hope this helps.
We will keep this open until we deliver Visual Explain functionality as well.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Programming Languages
Product - Developer for Power Systems

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Rational
Product family - Design & development
Product - Developer for Power Systems

Visual Explain, more of the System i Navigator Run SQL Scripts functionality, and an advanced SQL statement builder, built right into RDi, would be a large step toward getting nearly all the functionality I use in a single tool.

Using Rational Team Concert within eclipse has allowed us to improve our effieciency for reviewing code changes and deploying across multiple targets. Having a fully functional Data perspection for the IBM i when developing SQL would greatly improve our utilization of RTC.

My thought is including functionality of System i Navigator Run Sql Scripts would be ideal. The ability to edit Sql with the aid of color to highlight sql
code, syntax verification, and to save sql scripts that are associated with
the high-level language would be a great boost to productivity.

This RFE is consistent with our strategy and product roadmap and IBM is continuing to evaluate.
