This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Hi Joe,
As per our call this morning reporting on the SmartDR POC, and testing we have been performing. We have found that with a SmartDR configuration you cannot perform a SWAP personality where as you can reverse the direction of replication from Gough to Barrie or visa versa. This is a feature only available with the traditional SRDF/A replication using powerHA with Consistency Groups or Manual SWAP.
Now that we are moving to SmartDR, we need to introduce an extra manual step to perform a simulate SWAP which will be part of the WLS process as an intrim measure by using a CRON Job that will perform an Update from DR->PROD at a set time interval that configurable.
We need to include insure that when the IBM Developers work on m importing the SmartDR failover/failback feature that we have the option to perform request Updates to R1 from DR site.
Please provide the following to be included into the development:
PowerHA - SmartDR - Symmdr commands
1. Ability to Failover from Prod -> DR
2. Ability to enable UPADATE DR->PROD (R1)
3. Ability to Fail-back and copy full remaining Deltas from DR -> PROD
I can provide more details when we get closer to that stage. Raymond Faraone.
