This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Current limitation of Virtual Ethernet Adapters to run at 1Gb. If a 10Gb Ethernet port is set up as an SEA in VIOS, then client partitions using the bridge of virtual to physical are limited by the Virtual Ethernet Adapter maximum of 1Gb bandwidth. Some features don't allow partitions to own hardware so it means they can't run 10Gb or close to it - this is especially the case with IBM i partitions.
Please can Virtual Ethernet Adapters be allowed to run a higher bandwidth than 1Gb to allow better use of 10Gb physical ports.

Can you please let us know the following:
1. is 'qos_mode' enabled on SEA?
2. was IBM-i LPAR using VLANs and Priorities to VLANs?
3. was other LPARs are pushing traffic in parallel with IBM-I LPAR?
4. Did you see same issue on AIX or Linux LPARs? or was it specifically seen by IBM-i LPAR only?
5. May I know how you were able to generate traffic and calculate bandwidth - are you using iperf or netperf?
