Allow PTF Download Throttling

PTF downloading is built to open many parallel sockets to increase throughput.
This works too well at times. The process is capable of consuming virtually all of the internet bandwidth at our shop.
Being able to limit downloads by number of simultaneous connections or total bandwidth would allow admins to work at more convenient times.
This could be considered a network issue, but small/medium companies do not have the expertise/equipment to do this throttling in-house for their networks.

Use Case:

Admin checks PTFs on Tuesday morning, finds a CUM package available.
After setting bandwidth to 3 connections, downloading CUM package could start.
Wednesday the admin can apply to development system.
Applying to production could proceed on the weekend.

IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed.

I have seen this with SNDPTFORD. And DOWNLOAD DIRECTOR has the same issue. I had been using FTP method so I could control download bandwidth.
I was unaware of the automatic PTF download function... While this will help, I'd be able to choose the day. But if I cannot control the time of day, we could still have issues as we have 24/7 access to the system (except our dedicated backup window).
We are just now in the midst of moving from 7.2 to 7.3.
(I apologize for not seeing CAAC question sooner!).

The CAAC reviewed this requirement and would like more information on how PTFs are being downloaded to your system. Are you using SNDPTFORD? Or using the new automatic PTF download function in the 7.3 release? Or direct download from fix central?

This would be nice as either a keyword entry on the SNDPTFORD screens or create a storage space for PTF attributes with associated maintenance commands.
