whatever is cleared or reset during IPL that improves IFS backup be provided in a utility that can be run before IFS backup

when IPL is performed prior to backup, the IFS backup runs 5 hours quicker than normal. Data has been provided via PMR 32492,442,000. A utility to use that clears or resets whatever happens during the IPL would be a tremendous benefit to ensure the backup completes as soon as possible.

    Thank you for submitting this request. We understand what this request is based on the PMR, and will need to investigate if we can actually make a change to improve the save performance for your situation. Each environment impacts the SAV performance differently and new objects can affect the performance as well as the structure of a directory tree. We will update this request again after our investigation.
